A Real Life Story of Success.

I recently picked up a book that intrigued me, its called “Man with No Name” by Willy Amos. This guy documented his journey, his life adventure – about his evolution into the chocolate chip cookie man – and how he turned lemons into lemonade. Now that is fundamental and tells a real story, the steps he took.

It is books, stories and journeys like this that I like to share because right now many people are struggling, feeling so close to success, yet miles from it, and generally the outlook at its utmost optimistic – appears to be a long road.

And on the other side of the fence, success is abundant in times that have produced more millionaires than any other time in history.

I will post things I learned from this book for you – as it is something many people need to hear.

“No Matter Where You’re Coming From – You’re Always Going Somewhere”

Willy Amos opened up the first Famous Amos gourmet chocolate chip cookie store in the world and became synonymous with being the worlds most eminent cookie maker. (No offense to Mrs Fields and Pepperidge Farm)

Willy was a man who had come from small beginnings – like many do – and rose to fame, fortune, and all that comes with it.

Have you ever found yourself making excuses that you can’t be XYZ because of where you come from?

Have you ever blamed anyone else for your misfortunes or lot in life?

Have you ever stood up for what you believed in and voiced that publicly?

Have you ever dreamed and not gotten it? Or dreamed so big it was unreal?

Are you still dreaming, setting goals, and going for it – or did life crush you to the point where you feel like a slave to the system – get up, go to work, pay your bills, watch tv, go to bed – repeat, repeat, repeat….

Is today the day you want more for yourself? Your family? Society? The Planet?

Is today the day you will laugh out loud because you can?

Is today the day you break away from your past, your experiences, those things that keep you treading water, or weigh you down to the point you are suffocating?

If it is – start with just this one word – hope.

Obama put his entire campaign around that word – because it is that powerful of a word.

Have hope that your life will change, that you can dream, have what you want, when you want from where you want.

Just start there – and then create a picture of your life in one year. Cut out magazine pictures, words that empower, create a collage or just write it down and post it so you can read it – be a kid again – because the mind is very powerful – and if you create it big enough there, and then take the steps each day to make it happen – life will get different every day – and you will see things from a new perspective – and that alone – can make the difference.

Just don’t put hope in the hands of others.

So how does internet marketing fit into this?

You will see that what happened as I share more from the book, and how social media, websites, and the reporter in all of us can make or break something – but more importantly – Give us the power to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Tools like Twitter are reporting stories from around the world before the media.
Trends hit there like a Tsunami – and are later followed up and reported on by traditional media.

That means the power is now in your hands to be able to voice your opinion, and make a difference.

Before – we could occasionally vote. One vote in a sea of millions lost behind bureaucracy and political agendas, but today – change your perspective – because whether you realize it or not – the ball is in your court – and what you see that you don’t like – CHANGE IT!

Whether that is your own life, or something occurring in the world.

They don’t want you to know – but because of the internet and social media – the people have the power.

You have the power.

USE IT!

How to Select a Mentor and How A Mentor Helps You Succeed

I often hear stories about people who want to get going on their Internet business fast and either decide to do it on their own with special packages, CDs and lots of trial and error or they get involved with some coaching program and it doesnt quite work out right.

Its time I laid out a few of my experiences and give you my viewpoint on mentors and what they can really do for you.

In the world of Internet Marketing, we are often individually holed up in our homes or offices, mining the Internet for opportunities and creating our empires. There are many ways you can become successful on the Internet, but most involve the hard way, costly way, long way or mentor way. The hard way is to do it yourself. The costly way is to do it yourself. The long way is to do it yourself. Then, there is the mentor way.

You may have heard of many success stories in the industry and how they made it, but no one will tell you that it was hard, costly and long. It is these people who we need to be grateful for, and to ask for help. No matter whom we meet, from guru to newbie, they thank some mentor for getting them where they are, or started. There is a big barrier that prevents many people from achieving their ultimate Internet dreams, but it is a big fat lie.

You need to approach internet marketing keeping 4 things in mind:

1. Knowing where you are – and WHY

2. Knowing where you are going – and WHY

3. Knowing the best way to get there

4. Getting there quickly and easily

Having a mentor lets you model a successful person. Why do you think shows such as “The Apprentice” are so enticing? It isn’t just the media exposure, but for the winner it is a chance to work closely with a billionaire such as Donald Trump. Guess what that would do for your expectations and mindset? You would be influenced by persons who have mastered their art. For anyone considering getting a mentor, even though the cost may seem high, if you choose based on a mentor analysis, you will get someone who you can depend on to get you to the top, faster, easier, and in the long run, cheaper. By carefully analyzing your mentor you can learn whether you can get access via teleseminar or email, get access to their support staff and other important information.

You should focus on the time access to the mentor and pick one mentor to start and stay focused. Know how long have they been around and what are their Success Stories, Personality, Price. A mentor can only help in the ratio you are willing to make things happen. Mentors aren’t a magic pill designed to paint your world and make it all better for you. They are the role models and the people who have created a system that is working. It has been tested and proven to work for others, and can also work for you.

You have a lot on your plate with your goals, implementing all of the steps, creating a product, meeting people, getting your mentor, selling, marketing, growing, and juggling it, all at the same time. At some point you will need to build a team around you, and that will include your mentors, JV partners, friends, family, subcontracts and eventually staff, to handle all of the stuff you don’t want to.

As a mentor myself, I know there are tons of choices out there, and I wish you the best with your selection and team.
